Descripción
Mapegrout T40 is a premixed powder mortar, composed of cement, selected aggregates, special additives and synthetic fibers, according to a formulation developed in the MAPEI Research Laboratories. Mapegrout T40, mixed with water, transforms into a thixotropic mortar that is easy to apply on vertical surfaces, even in large thicknesses, without the need for formwork.
CHARACTERISTICS
Mapegrout T40, after hardening, has the following qualities:
- average mechanical strength, flexural and compression
- elastic modulus, thermal expansion coefficient and water vapor permeability coefficient, similar to those of a medium quality concrete
- water impermeability
- optimal adhesion to old concrete, as long as it has been previously moistened with water, and to the reinforcement bars, especially if they have been treated with Mapefer or Mapefer 1K
TO IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Do not apply Mapegrout T40 in repairs to structures subjected to high compression loads or strong wear and abrasion: it is preferable to use Mapegrout Tissotropico or Mapegrout T60
- Do not use Mapegrout T40 when it is necessary to pump the material over long distances or notable heights (use Mapegrout Easy Flow)
- Do not apply Mapegrout T40 on smooth concrete bases: create a strong roughness on the surface and add possible contrast reinforcements
- Do not use Mapegrout T40 for anchors (use Mapefill or Mapefill R)
- Do not use Mapegrout T40 for additions by casting into formwork (use Mapegrout Colabile)
- Do not add cement or additives to Mapegrout T40
- Do not add water when the mixture has started to set
- Do not apply Mapegrout T40 at temperatures below +5 °C
- Do not use Mapegrout T40 if the bag is damaged or has been previously opened.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Cortical repair of deteriorated concrete structures, on vertical or horizontal surfaces, with medium mechanical performance mortar
Some application examples
- Repair of degraded areas of concrete, edges of pillars, beams and balcony fronts, damaged by the oxidation of the iron in the reinforcement
- Regularization of screen walls and galleries
- Coating of pipelines and hydraulic works
- Reconstruction of the coating of iron reinforcements in reinforced concrete structures
- Regularization of surface defects such as gravel nests, concreting joints, holes in the formwork separators, outcropping of iron, etc.
- Rigid joint filling
